This is the twelfth picture in my Japan 2008 collection.
The Deer Garden Temple ( 鹿苑寺 ), better known as the Golden Pavilion ( 金閣寺 ), is one of the great beauties of Japan that has remained an icon that represents the country for all who have to fortune to see it in person. Originally built in 1397, and reconstructed after burning down in 1950, this long-standing landmark has become a must-see for tourists and an icon of the Japanese world. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. To help support the Literature community we hold regular contests. It is an opportunity for you to get involved and gain some exposure. Contest winners will be featured in a news article and a journal entry--as well as other fabulous prizes.
